The Phi Center for Nanoscience, in cooperation with the Department of Physics – College of Science – Al-Mustansiriyah University, organized a scientific seminar entitled "Discover Your Research Potential", held on March 8, 2023, at the university's main auditorium in Baghdad.
The event brought together over 80 participants including graduate students, academic researchers, and industry professionals. The seminar focused on helping early-stage researchers understand the practical tools and analytical techniques available through Phi Nano Center — from X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FTIR spectroscopy to scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
"Our mission is to make advanced nanoscience characterization accessible to every researcher in Iraq. This seminar is one step in building the bridge between academic potential and real laboratory capability."
During the seminar, Phi Nano Center specialists demonstrated live data analysis sessions, showing how characterization results such as particle size distribution, crystallinity indices, and surface morphology are interpreted in published research. Participants were also briefed on the center's data purchase portal, where researchers can access raw datasets from previously conducted tests for use in their theses and publications.
A dedicated session was held for MSc and PhD candidates to explain the center's thesis proofreading service, which covers scientific writing, terminology accuracy, and result presentation. The session was met with significant interest from students working in materials science, biomedical engineering, and nanotechnology fields.
Phi Nanoscience Center plans to continue this initiative across other Iraqi universities, with upcoming seminars scheduled at the University of Baghdad and Mustansiriyah University of Technology in Q2 2023.

March 10, 2023An excellent initiative! As a PhD student in materials science, I found the session on XRD data interpretation especially valuable. Hoping the center brings this seminar to the University of Technology next.
